The most common issue for a Spike or Drop to show in the Net Worth graph is when similar accounts are created due to events like mortgage refinances or accounts being duplicated. One account is marked closed to retain the data, but the wrong date was chosen.
For instance, if a mortgage account is moved from one bank to another, the original mortgage can be marked closed after the new mortgage is linked. A spike or dip can occur if the original mortgage was closed on the day before or after the new mortgage was linked.
To resolve this issue, the closed account date can be updated in the Closed Accounts section of your Net Worth page.
After clicking on "Closed Account", click on the pencil icon of the account to be edited.
The Account details page should appear showing the "Change Closed Date" option.
Once selected, update the Close date on the day the new account was linked, then click "Save"
If you are still seeing the error or the issue was caused by other scenarios like the following:
- Recently transferred money between accounts
- Reporting error for one or more of your accounts
Please contact support with the name of the financial institution, the account name and the date(s) when you see the spike/drop.
