You can use this method if you want to classify the asset mix of this holding by entering the portions that are stocks, bonds, cash, and more. If you want you can even enter detailed allocation data like large cap stocks or municipal bonds. Use the steps below to classify your unclassified holdings using percentages for each asset class:
- Click on the 'Investing' tab and select 'Allocations'.
- If you have holdings that can be manually classified, you will see a 'Manual Classifications' button at the top right-hand side and you can click on this button to proceed.(You can also click on the ‘Unclassified’ section in the holdings table, and click on ‘Classify’ next to the holding you want to edit).
- Select the holding you wish to classify by clicking 'Add' to the right of the specific holding.
- Click on 'Enter the percentage of each asset class'.
- Click on the percentage text box next to each asset class and enter the percentage of each asset class specific to this holding. Please note that the percentages of the different asset classes have to add up to a 100% all together for the updates properly take place.
By default, the detailed allocation data will be split evenly across all categories and sector data (U.S. Stocks only) will be set to unknown but you can edit the percentage in the respective sections and click the 'Save' button in the bottom right-hand corner.
