You can update the category of the transaction from selecting one in the available list. Application specific steps to update the category for a single transaction are given below.
Web Application:
- Please log in to Empower Personal Dashboard via a web browser on your computer (home.personalcapital.com)
- Go to My Accounts panel
- Click on the account in question
- Select the transaction in question
- Change the category by selecting the within the drop down menu provided.
- Click the ‘Done’ tab
iPhone / iPad :
- Please log in to the application.
- Go to the Net Worth panel
- Click on the account in question
- Select the transaction in question
- Change the category by selecting the within the drop down menu provided.
- Click the ‘Done’ tab
Android:
- Please log in to the application.
- Go to the Net Worth panel
- Click on the account in question.
- Select the transaction in question
- Change the category by selecting the first field displayed under the price.
- The drop down menu will display. Select the new category.
- Click the ‘Done’ tab
Once completed, our system should remember the change you have made for that transaction, so when another transaction with the same description syncs, it will be updated accordingly. Please note that the descriptions must exactly match, as any variation in syntax will throw this off.
