The Empower Personal Dashboard allows users to create custom categories for transactions using the following application-specific instructions below.
Web
- Click on the transaction you would like to edit.
- Click on the Category field and start typing the name of the new category you want to create.
- At the bottom of the dropdown list, click 'Create category'.
- In the 'Add category' window that opens, enter the 'Name' and 'Type' (Income, Expense, or Transfer) of the new category.
- Click 'Done' to create the category.
- Click 'Save' in the bottom-right corner to save the transaction with the newly created category.
iOS/Android
- Tap on the transaction you would like to edit.
- In the Transaction details window, tap on the 'Category field.
- Tap '+' in the top right-hand corner of the screen to open the 'Create category' window.
- Type in the 'Name' of the new category and select the 'Type' (Income, Expense, or Transfer).
- Tap on 'Done' in the upper-right corner to create the custom category and return to the Transaction details window.
- Tap 'Save' in the upper-right corner to save the transaction with the newly created category.
Note that currently Empower Personal Dashboard allows a maximum of 30 custom categories to be created.
