Empower Personal Dashboard takes the security of your account very seriously. To this end, we actively monitor if there is unusual login activity against your account.
If a login attempt from outside the U.S. is detected, we will send a notification email to the email address registered to your Empower Personal Dashboard account. This can be very useful in the event that someone is attempting to compromise your account, as you know the moment an attempt is made.
However, if you are traveling, you may find it useful to disable this feature. To do so, Click the pull-down button next to your name in the top menu bar and select Settings:
Then, scroll down on the Profile and Settings page to the Security Settings section. Click the Edit link to the right of the 'Foreign login alert' setting and enter your Empower Personal Dashboard password. The setting will then expand to allow you to disable the "Email me if someone logs in to my account from outside the US." feature by unchecking the box next it:
When this feature is disabled, you will no longer be emailed every time a login attempt is detected for your account from outside the United States.
NOTE - We recommend re-enabling this feature once you return home to ensure that your account remains secure.
