To mark an account as closed, you will need to complete the following steps on each specific version of the dashboard:
Web Application:
- Click on the name of the account you want to mark as closed.
- Click on the pencil icon next to the name of the account that displays in the main panel on the right (above the graph).
- It's possible that an error or issue prevents the account details from displaying when you select the account from the Accounts panel. If that’s the case, you can also edit the account by selecting Overview > Net Worth from the top menu bar.
- Then, select the account in the main panel on the right. You'll see the account name at the top of the window (above the graph), along with a pencil icon next to it.
- Click the pencil icon to edit the account.
- Select "Mark account as closed" on the bottom left-hand corner of the pop-up window.
- Enter the date that your account was closed with your financial institution.
- Click on the "Mark as closed" button.
iOS & Android Mobile App:
- Tap the name of the account you want to mark as closed.
- Tap on the "pencil icon" to the right of the account name.
- Scroll down and tap on "Mark as closed".
- Enter the date that your account was closed with your financial institution.
- Tap on "Mark as Closed".
Once marked as closed, the account balance will be zeroed out starting on the date you selected. Any and all transactions after this date will be removed.
If you have any issues following the above steps, we recommend clicking on the "Overview" tab at the top of the dashboard (in the web application) and choosing the "Net Worth" option in the dropdown menu. Your account list will then populate in the main panel, and you can click on the appropriate account.
Once you click the account, the account summary will populate in the middle panel and you can then click on the pencil icon next to the account name (above the graph). From the pop-up window you can then click on "Mark account as closed" and choose the preferred closure date.
If an error was made with the closure date you selected, you should be able to re-open the account and then choose a new closure date by using the Managing Closed Accounts feature. If you're unable to see the account using this feature, please contact support and provide detailed information on the specific account and what the correct date should be so we can assist further.
