In May, 2025, Capital One acquired Discover Financial Services. As of March 2026, accounts have begun transitioning from Discover to Capital One. You can read more about this at the Capital One site here: Discover® is now part of Capital One.
If your account has been migrated to Capital One, you will need to link your Capital One account to your Empower Personal Dashboard to see your updated account data. Once you have linked your Capital One account, you can mark any migrated Discover accounts as closed. Please review our help article for more information on How to Mark an Account as Closed in the Empower Dashboard.
Please note that not all Discover accounts have migrated yet, and you may need to keep both Discover and Capital One linked to your Empower Personal Dashboard while this transition rolls out.
