Bank of America is planning to introduce some updates to their backend API, which means that users will need to follow additional steps to maintain their account connections once these changes are implemented.
Starting from July 3rd, you will have 30 days to update your existing Bank of America connection using the steps provided below. During this period your current connection will continue to sync normally.
If you do not update your connection within 30 days, syncing will stop. You can then reconnect your account at any time by clicking the 'Reconnect' button that appears next to your Bank of America account in the account list.
This update is a one-time requirement designed to accommodate the new system changes and ensure your account continues to function smoothly.
To make sure you transition successfully and keep your account information current, please follow the steps below:
- First, log into your Empower Personal Dashboard and locate your Bank of America account among your listed accounts.
- Next, on the left-hand side of the dashboard screen, find the Account List and click on one of your Bank of America accounts to select it.
- In the main section of the screen, look for the pencil icon adjacent to your account name. Click this icon to enter the account editing mode.
- Once the Edit Account screen appears, click on the Update Connection button to proceed with updating your account link.
- At this point, a new window will open, directing you to the Bank of America website. Follow the on-screen instructions carefully to complete the authentication process and update your connection.
After you have completed these steps, your Bank of America account will continue to update as usual without any further interruptions. If you encounter any difficulties during this process, please do not hesitate to contact support. When reaching out, let us know exactly which step caused the issue, and our Support Team will be more than happy to assist you.
