If you use two-factor verification with Wealthfront, you won’t be able to use your Wealthfront password to link to Wealthfront from your Empower Personal Dashboard.
Instead, App-Specific passwords have been implemented by Wealthfront which will allow you to securely link to Wealthfront without needing to use your Wealthfront password.
Generate and use an app-specific password
You can generate an app-specific password in Settings on the Wealthfront website. This creates a secure password for you to use when linking to Wealthfront from your Empower Personal Dashboard account.
- Log in to Wealthfront, then navigate to Settings
- Under Link Wealthfront to other apps, select Generate an app-specific password
- Follow the prompts to complete the process.
Once your password is generated, you can store it in a password manager or enter it manually when linking your account in Empower Personal Dashboard. If you are linking your Wealthfront account for the first time we recommend that you manually enter the password rather than using a password manager.
